Paw Paw Canine Rescue & Recovery although at it’s core is a “Safe Haven” for those dogs who have lived within the concrete walls of a shelter most of their lives, we also believe in the power of giving those dogs the Second Chances they rightfully deserve. By that we allow them whatever time necessary to decompress and re-acclimate into their surroundings where they now have all the room their hearts can ever imagine roaming. We don’t place “timelines” of when we think they should be adjusted, we go simply by when they feel COMFORTABLE and when they can TRUST us. In order for proper placement down the line there must be a firm bond of TRUST built between both staff and canine to understand what exactly is needed for each dog to succeed in a potential home.

The application process to adopting one of our dogs is very simple:

• Once you submit the application, our staff will then read through and determine the best possible match; Your first choice may not always be the best fit due to the dogs needs.

• Once the application is APPROVED there will be either a Facetime Meet or In Person Meet Scheduled by staff prior to any meet & greets with the dogs to establish an understanding of the type of dog you are looking for.

• If everything in the Facetime or In-Person Meet is APPROVED then a Meet & Greet will be scheduled. There will be a minimum of 3 Meet & Greets required where staff will introduce the dog to potential family, go into history and temperament of the dog, ensure potential family members are able to successfully handle the dog without any physical limitations.
